5. Castaic Lake
A popular favorite, Castaic Lake is a must-see for your summer’s bucket list. Just north of Santa Clarita, this beautiful reservoir doesn’t just provide water to nearby communities. It also provides a day full of fun for its visitors!
The lake is divided into the lower and upper regions. The lower lagoon offers a swim beach that is open from Memorial Day weekend to Labor day weekend annually. During the summer, visitors may also camp and picnic, as well. Boating is permitted but regulations are strictly enforced.
The upper region of the lake is primarily for boating and for fishing. Black bass and largemouth bass are the primary fish found here.
