3. Ventura State Beach

One of the largest beaches in Southern California, Ventura State Beach has plenty of room to run and play, stretching over two miles.

The sand is kept clean and is great for building sand castles. This beach is fantastic for swimming, sun bathing, playing beach volleyball, or riding your bike.

The surf is fairly calm in the summer, so most surfing is set for the wintertime.
